Challenge
2021 marks the 200th birthday of Leeds Museums & Galleries. To celebrate, LMG are delivering a programme and exhibition exploring 200 years of collections, and what they mean to the people of Leeds. We were tasked with creating an overarching identity for the programme, marketing the exhibition to the public, and finally applying the brand across an entire exhibition of weird and wonderful artefacts.
Solution
Bold, celebratory and positive – our identity celebrates such a huge milestone, it makes clear that this is a special exhibition, and that the marketing collateral promotes a vast array of artefact’s and stories from the past two centuries which have real significance to local people. Considering the existing Leeds City Museums brand (the home of the exhibition), we followed a clear and simple approach, which confidently says 200 – this is the emotive figure and what makes this exhibition special. A simple confetti style graphic adds a feeling of celebration without overruling the message.
